Learn the “Tactics”. Be more effective if you see, hear or experience a dog theft. Learn how to stay safe, but still prevent, slow down or thwart a theft with the aim of not losing a dog or being able to recover it from thieves. Sign the petition. Petitions are important ways to make big changes. Our current one that we endorse is about making a parliamentary representation to raise what are very weak convictions for dog theft and possible prison sentences. Click here …

Learn the DogHorn PAWS code. Pause – Action – Whistle – Stay Safe. It is the key to an immediate response that could help raise immediate help during and after a theft. Learn the sound code ( a bit like the SOS or mountain emergency code) so you can either give it or know what to do if you hear it. More here…

Become a Dog Responder. Learn about the campaign, the anti theft tactics, and be ready to help other dog owners become more aware about how to protect their dogs and themselves before, and during, any theft. More …

Join the Facebook “DogHorn Volunteers Group“. Find out what is going on and how to help more. @doghornvolunteergroup. We need help to spread the campaign in so many ways and do things like put campaign packs together and laminate posters.

Speak to other dog owners and dog walkers. There is nothing better than a personal referral, especially as the name “DogHorn” is easy to remember. “Have you heard about the DogHorn Campaign” is a a great topic of conversation, even if you can’t remember much about it. Just talking about it will jog your memory.

Create You Own DogHorn Zone. If there isn’t an active “DogWatch” zone in your local area then contact us and find out how.

Get Signs and Posters Up. There are a selection of signs and posters that you can get up on notice boards and around your local area. Download them from here.
